FAITH LUTHERAN SCHOOL (KINDERGARTEN – 8TH GRADE)

All subjects are taught with a biblical worldview. Our elementary students (Grades K - 5) have a core curriculum of language arts (reading, writing, spelling, and grammar), mathematics, social studies, and science. Our junior high students (Grades 6 - 8) have a core curriculum of literature (including vocabulary), English (writing and grammar), mathematics (including algebra), science, Spanish, and history. In addition to these core subjects, we offer classes in art, technology, and physical education at every grade level. Many of our Eighth graders are able to enter high school with algebra and Spanish credits carried over from FLS. Our Fourth and Seventh graders study Texas history as required by the state of Texas. In addition to these content area subjects we also teach Bible at every grade level.

Our students consistently perform in the top 25% of all students nationwide on the Stanford Achievement Test which we use to assess and monitor our students’ progress. First through Eighth graders have opportunities throughout the year to compete against other Christian schools in math, speech, spelling, and Bible meets; Middle School students compete in “Academic Quest” in the spring; and Fourth through Eighth graders participate in an annual science fair.

The majority of our qualified, experienced and dedicated instructors have been teaching for an average of 16 years. All of our instructors are certified by an accreditation agency and a high percentage possess a Master’s degree in Education.
